Smc Wholesale Products
Question by EFFT: Where do wholesalers get their products from?
Do retailers get their products from wholesalers, who in turn get ‘em from the factories? I’m thinking of doing business on eBay and am looking for wholesalers. But would it be more profitable if I were to get ‘em direct from the factories?
But how do I contact the factories? I know it’s much more common to get the products from wholesalers rather than factories, but just curious: HOW DO WHOLESALERS FIND FACTORIES TO GET THEIR PRODUCTS FROM?

It depends on what kind of product your dealing with. Most factories require a minimum order before they will deal with you directly. It’s not unusual to require an order of more than $ 100,000 to deal factory direct. Many factories will not sell direct to anyone but a wholesaler because of wholesale agreements that protect wholesalers from having to compete against the factory. Factories don’t want to bother with billing for small orders. That’s why wholesalers exist, to handle billing for factories and to maintain warehouse inventory in a local warehouse for faster delivery. Even most wholesalers require a minimum order, usually thousands of dollars. Anyone who will sell you a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise is not a true wholesaler, they are just retailers giving a discount. Wholesale prices are as fictitious as retail prices. Retailers who place large orders get huge discount off of the “wholesale” price.
There are some companies like SMC that claim to sell wholesale for people to sell stuff on Ebay. Most are nothing but scams.
