Im serious, when I go to the mall I see one shirt that costs $ 14.99. And Another brand shirt that costs $ 49.99. No clearance or sales, nothing like that. That is the msrp. Both shirts are made in china and are 100% cotton. And actually the cheaper shirt is made better too. Like it has more cotton in it then the 49.99 shirt. But why do people pay more money for the same stuff?

Because there is always a market base that will pay more for the same product. So, if you’re in retail (or even wholesale) your business is to maximize profit. Thus, you will sell your product at maximum price that the market will command.

There are other variables too to consider: USA union made = more expensive. Costs to import, including taxes and currency exchanges = more expensive.
